Maverick Secure Mobile (MSM) is a cell phone security application. MSM helps you protect your data, track your stolen device, retrieve your phonebook and disable the stolen device remotely. The application works in hidden mode and cannot be viewed in the device. To launch or customize this application one has to enter the Registration Code, pre-defined “short keys” and a password. After installing MSM in the device one must add a “Reporting Phone Contact” in the application. The reporting contact can be your second number or a friend’s number or any other mobile number on which you want to receive all the reports. Please note that there are slight differences for Installation on the three main Operating Systems. Please confirm YOUR device’s Operating System per attached List of Compatible Phones.
Installing Maverick Secure Mobile
Pleasa follow these steps for the installation of MSM on Blackberry devices only;you can refer to the MSM back up note for the steps.
send an email to msm@averickmobile.in from any email configured on the blackbeery, subject line should be MSM.
A link will be sent, click on the link and download MSM. it will directly start the installation.
Allow all permission that pop then download the application
After installatio, go to BB menu, select options
Set 'allow' if default permission is still custom or deny for; connections, interactions and user data. save and come out of MSM
Reboot the device by removing battery and putting back into the phone
Once the device is fully rebooted, call up MSM with *123*
Enter registration details;
1. phone number +234....
2. BB email ID (this can be any email configured on the device)
3. Registration key -14 digit pin on the scratch card
4. Registration option- SMS (if that doesn't go, you can switch to EMAIL)
5. Choose SERVER 2
Press BB button SUBMIT
In a few minutes you will see a pop up message saying REGISTRATION COMPLETE . (Wait for this message)
The server will send you a USER ID, PASSWORD and a link, please note down this information and follow the link to track your mobile phone via GPS TRACKING.
Once registration is complete,MSM will dispaly a page showing GENERAL INFORMATION, REPOTING CONTACT and HANG INFORMATION. if you do not see this after the confirmatiory message, please call up MSM again with *123*
Go to GENERAL INFORMATION and ensure that the following are correct;
1.SWITCH ON MSM-yes
2.SMS TEXT - MSM ACTIVE
3.ENTER PASSWORD -ajt is the default password. you can change to your own password (about 9 characters long)
4.ENTER REPORTING EMAIL
5.ENTER POLICE NUMBER - PLEASE LEAVE BLANK
6. LAUNCH KEY COMBINATION -*123* IS THE DEFAULT LAUNCH KEY, IT CAN ALSO BE CHANGED BUT ONLY NUMERIC.
7.Press BB button and save
8.Go back, highlight the General information, press BB button and choose 'send info to server'
Go to REPORTING CONTACT, click on the BB button and choose add contact, start with +234...(you can add 2 reporting contacts) then go back.
Go to HANG INFORMATION and fill these information;
1.NAME
2.ADDRESS (its is advised to enter your area and city example; ikeja, lagos)
3.ALTERNATIVE PHONE NUMBER
4.AWARD AMOUNT
Click on BB button and save
Go back, click on BB button and HID. MSM will go into hidden mode.
When you want to edit or launch MSM, please enter the new HOT KEY and PASSWORD
Once you have downloaded and installed the MSM to your mobile device, the application will launch itself for the first time. By default the application will install itself in Phone memory. It cannot be installed on MMC. To perform smoothly MSM require at least 3 to 5 MB of memory free on the device. Before installing MSM please make sure you have backed-up all the contacts and important data onto the memory card or any other safe place.

2. Installing Maverick Secure Mobile on your Blackberry using the phones web browser.
1. Open your phones web browser and go to www.maverick-mobi.com
2. The Mobi Site will automatically detect what phone you are using.
3. Click on "download" and follow the onscreen prompts.
Registering
1. To launch MSM press *123* and then press call button.
2. The registering screen will now appear.
3. In the given fields, insert your mobile phone number and the 14 digit registration number.
4. Select mode for registering as sms.
5. Select server 2
6. Select "send" to complete registration.
7. Wait for a response from the Maverick server. Once you get the message “registration complete” your application is ready to use.
Please note: that the Maverick Secure Mobile application works in hidden mode. You will not see a Maverick Secure Mobile application icon in your Blackberry. To launch Maverick Secure Mobile press *123* then the call button.

2. Launching and customizing Maverick Secure Mobile
To launch Maverick Secure Mobile user has to press pre defined short keys *123* then call button & password “ajt”. To customize go to settings.
General Settings:
1. Switch On MSM: (Select YES/NO)
If “Switch on MSM” is marked “yes” then MSM will function actively on SIM change, Activate & other commands. If Switch on MSM is marked NO then MSM will not function at all even if the SIM is changed.
2. SMS text to switch on MSM: ( User INPUT )
By default SMS command to activate MSM is “Activate” This command will turn on all the functions of MSM even if SIM is not change and take your phone to Theft/Stolen mode. User can define his own SMS command to activate MSM without changing the SIM. User has to send this command from reporting contact number. MSM will respond to the commands received from reporting device only.
3. Enter Email: Input text
Insert your valid email address. You can use this email address as your reporting email. If you activate email reporting by sending a specific command it will start reporting on your given email address. Email reporting can only be used in case you want to track mobile activity. This email reporting feature will not be applicable for Sim change and activate phase. To receive email reports, one must send “msm track” from the specified email address.
4. Change Password: (User Input)
Default password is “ajt”. Using this field user can change default password as per his choice. Password can be Alpha Numeric. Max length of the password can be 09 characters.
5. Change MSM hot keys: (User Input)
Default hot keys to launch MSM is *123* Using this field user can change hot key combination. Max Hot key length can be 09 characters. Hot keys combination has to be Numeric only! (By default Hot key combination starts & ends with *. While changing hot key combination user need not to write * If user changes hot keys from 123 to eg 567, to launch application with new key combination user has press *567*.
Please remember to select “SAVE” after any settings have been changed.
Adding Reporting Contact Number:
Reporting Contact number can be any other mobile number on which user want to receive all the reports related to his lost/stolen phone. User can add Reporting contact number from phone book within application. MSM will accept and respond to commands received from Reporting Contact Number.
Hang Settings:
1. Change Attack screen txt (User Input)
User can edit the Text using this field. User can add his name, address, alternate number, award amount. Whenever application receives “msm hang” message it will play loud siren and disable the phone completely & display pre defined screen along with the above added details.
2. Raise a Siren alarm
By default this field is set to “Yes” if application receives “msm hang” message it will play loud siren and disable the phone completely & display pre defined screen along with the above added details.If this field is set to “No” application will not play any siren even if it receives msm hang message. If this field is set to “No” in preview attack also it will not play any siren.
Decrypt:
Whenever MSM goes into theft/stolen mode it encrypts all the contacts, images, messages. When you select Decrypt it will restore all the data in respective places. Please be patient while decryption is in the process.
3. Data Backup
Please note: The Data Backup for Blackberry makes use of "EDGE" and not "GPRS". Please make sure your phone is picking up a EDGE signal before attempting to register for Data Backup.
1. To access Data Backup for Blackberry, go to the Blackberry menu on your phone and open the "downloads" folder.
2. From there click on the "Data Backup" icon.
3. Select register
4. In the given fields, insert your User-name, Password, Name and Email address.
5. Click your Blackberry menu button and select save.
6. You will be notified after a few moment whether or not you successfully registered.
7. To access your backups and make backup, go to "Data Backup" from the downloads folder, enter your user-name and password and click submit.
